A exquisite antique hallmarked silver pedestal sugar basket with engraved decoration and beaded design around the rim and base. The very clear hallmark reads London 1785, the makers mark is for Thomas Daniell. The maker has also signed the piece on the under side of the base "T. Daniell No 20 Foster Lane Maker". It measures 15.5cm by 10.5cm and stands with the handle raised at 17.5cm. The weight is 283.7 grams. A beautifully elegant piece of Georgian silver.
