A delightful Victorian pinchbeck brooch set with a hand carved shell cameo fitted with a safety chain. The brooch measures 4.5 cm (1.75 inches) by 3.5 cm (1.5 inches). This beautiful shell carving has a slightly pink hue. There is a hairline crack to the back of the cameo as can be seen in the photo but this does not come through to the front.
