A stunning Victorian hallmarked large silver locket together with a silver collar. The locket is decorated to the front with an applied silver design and floral engraving to the raised centre. The reverse is engraved with the initials EC or CE. The clear hallmark on the locket reads Birmingham 1883. The collar is unmarked which is normal for this era. On the inside of the locket there is glass to one side. This is because the locket was traditionally worn with hair under the class and a photo to the opposite side. It measures 5cm (2 inches) by 4cm (1.5 inches). A delightful piece of history. The price includes insured post and packing. £250.00 SOLD |
